Move of CASA causes hardship

Burdened with the expenses of having to close an office and equip staff members to work temporarily from their homes, the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of St. Clair and Monroe Counties have asked the bench and bar for assistance.

The organization is in the process of relocating to a new office at 110 N. High St., Belleville, with diminished finances and can use some help in this time of need.

CASA trains and supervises volunteer advocates who become the voices of abused and neglected children in court proceedings. The St. Clair County office has received Illinois Bar Foundation funds in previous years.

“If you are able, we are asking your organization and its members to make a donation,” said executive director Victoria Vasileff in a recent letter. Call (618) 234-4278 to determine how best to help.
