DuPage Bar stresses values

The DuPage County Bar Association has inducted 32 members as Fellows of the DuPage Academy of Bar Leaders. The ceremony took place May 9 during the annual President’s Ball at Medinah Country Club.

The academy is a joint leadership program that the association conducts with the Leadership, Ethics and Values Department of North Central College in Naperville.

“These individuals participated in at least six of seven sessions that addressed three roles lawyers should assume to maximize influence in the professional arena and community,” said DCBA President Fred Spitzzeri, a member of the ISBA Assembly.

Those roles are Counselor, Advocate and Citizen, he explained, adding that the academy is modeled after similar programs offered by only a few state and local bar associations.

The inaugural class of fellows includes ISBA Assembly member Kimberly A. Davis of Downers Grove, a past president of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers who serves on the Civil Practice and Procedure Section Council.

The next series of seven monthly sessions will begin Sept. 18 and conclude April 16. Some are held at North Central and others in the DuPage Bar Center classroom in Wheaton.
