Tee up for CLE in YLD outingContinuing legal education can be especially enjoyable when one hour of it is followed by five hours of collegial golfing. Mary F. Andreoni, administrative counsel for the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, will conduct the seminar, “Keep It Straight and Narrow: Answers to the Top 10 Questions Submitted to the ARDC,” ahead of the ISBA Young Lawyers Division outing on Tuesday, July 22, at the Odyssey Country Club in Tinley Park. In just 60 minutes, Andreoni will cover a professionalism decalogue that ranges from registration status issues and maintaining trust accounts, to the duty to report misconduct by other lawyers. The ARDC liaison to the ISBA Committee on Professional Conduct, Andreoni served on Inquiry and Hearing Boards while in private practice. She supervises the ARDC Ethics Inquiry Program and directs the Illinois Professional Responsibility Institute. Her presentation at 11 a.m. will be followed by luncheon and the 12:30 p.m. shotgun start of the fourth annual Golf Classic benefit for the IBF/YLD Children’s Assistance Fund. The fund was started 10 years ago to provide toys, televisions, games and movies in supervised courthouse waiting rooms for children of witnesses and litigants. During the past three years, $83,000 has been raised from the golf outing and other events. A reception, silent auction and dinner will follow golfing. The package cost of the event is $150. Dinner only is $50. The seminar is free to registered golfers, but is also available to non-golfers for $50. Sponsorships also are available at various contribution levels that range from $100 (shared hole sponsor) to $500 (closest to pin), to $1,000 (lunch at the turn), to $2,000 (reception and dinner).
