Arnstein & Lehr, Chicago, has named partners Samuel H. Levine and Dino Armiros co-chairs of its new Commercial Solutions Service Group, which will help clients navigate complex legal issues emerging from financial distress situations in today’s economy.
Other group members practice in Chicago and Florida in areas such as banks and financial institutions, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, condominium and community associations, construction, real estate, taxation and litigation.
Levine serves on the ISBA Real Estate Law Section Council, the Commercial, Banking and Bankruptcy Law Section Council, and the Committee on Legislation.

Rick Carpenter has been appointed chief marketing officer at Barnes & Thornburg, Chicago. He was director of marketing and business development for a New York firm and, prior to that, a partner in Deloitte Consulting.
Barnes & Thornburg has selected three summer associates: Xiao Bai of the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Matthew P. Tyrrell of the Loyola University School of Law, and Brian A. Raynor of the University of Iowa College of Law.

C. Willis Ritter has joined the Chicago office of Gonzalez, Saggio & Harlan as a partner and co-chair of the firm’s national municipal finance practice. Ritter had retired from his Washington, D.C., practice last year after four decades.
Based in Milwaukee, Gonzales, Saggio & Harlan established its Chicago presence in 2007 by merging with Burris, Wright, Slaughter & Tom. Managing partners are Tim Wright III and Elizabeth McDuffie.

Kay Ellen Henriksen, professor and chair of the Criminal Justice Program at MacMurray College, Jacksonville, will retire at the end of this semester after 18 years on the faculty.
A 1976 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, Henriksen was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1986. She plans to become a program planner for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Springfield.

Belleville attorney Eric M. Rhein purchased the property at 6897 W. Main St. and moved his construction and business litigation practice to it on May 31.
An assistant St. Clair County state’s attorney, Rhein is an instructor in the Sociology/Criminal Justice Studies Department at Southern Illinois Univer-sity, Edwardsville.

Eileen E. Rosen has been named a partner in Rock Fusco, Chicago, and Stacy A. Benjamin is a new associate with the firm. They practice in civil rights defense for municipalities and government agencies.
Benjamin was senior counsel in individual defense litigation with the City of Chicago Law Department.
