Board elects officers

In elections held during the July 11 meeting of the ISBA Board of Governors in Chicago, Mauro Glorioso of Westchester was named secretary and Dennis J. Orsey of Granite City was named treasurer.

The board also appointed Cook County Judge Naomi H. Schuster, a former governor, to the vacancy caused by the election of John G. Locallo as third vice president.

Jacksonville attorney Gary L. Cline was appointed to a 7th Circuit vacancy on the ISBA Assembly, due to the resignation of Raylene DeWitte Grischow.

Elected to the Committee on Scope and Correlation are board members Umberto S. Davi, Anita M. DeCarlo, Richard D. Felice, Russell W. Hartigan, James J. Morici Jr., April G. Troemper, and Schuster.

ISBA Second Vice President Mark D. Hassakis chairs the committee. Other members are past president Joseph G. Bisceglia, Third Vice President Locallo and executive director Robert E. Craghead.

Foundation appointments

The ISBA Board of Governors on July 11 approved the appointments of several members of the Illinois Bar Foundation board, as requested by Vice President Vincent F. Cornelius of Wheaton.

The two-year terms of six of the 12 members are reviewed each year. Appointed to terms that will expire in 2010 are the following.

First District – Debra B. Walker of Chicago was reappointed; Shawn S. Kasserman of Chicago was appointed to succeed Todd A. Smith, who did not seek another term.

Second District – Lynn C. Cavallo of St. Charles was reappointed.

Third District – Richard W. Zuckerman of Peoria was reappointed.

Fourth District – April G. Troemper of Springfield was reappointed.

Fifth District – Perry J. Browder of East Alton was reappointed.

ISBA President Jack C. Carey reappointed two members of the Board of Governors, Richard D. Felice of Wheaton and Russell W. Hartigan of Chicago, to at-large seats on the foundation board.

In October, Cornelius will succeed David B. Sosin as president of the Bar Foundation, and George F. Mahoney will become vice president.

The Third District vacancy caused by Mahoney's elevation will be filled by Martin H. Katz of Moline until 2009.
