Traffic law, self-representation are August cable program topics

Two ISBA cable television programs are being broadcast at 10 p.m. Tuesdays during August on Chicago Access Network channel 21.

"What if You Get a Traffic Ticket?" is scheduled August 19, and "Representing Yourself in Court" may be seen August 26.

Cook County Judge Michael B. Hyman, a member of the Bench and Bar Section Council and Committee on Supreme Court Rules, is the moderator for both panels.

Participants in the traffic tickets program are Edward M. Maloney of Ahern, Maloney & Moran, Skokie, newsletter co-editor of the Traffic Laws and Courts Section; assistant state's attorney Catherine D. Sanders, supervisor of the Traffic Division, and Judge Lauretta Higgins Wolfson of Traffic Court.

Pro se representation speakers include assistant state's attorney Julie Ann Sebastian, chair of the General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section Council, vice chair of the Bench and Bar Section Council, and newsletter co-editor of the Administrative Law Section.

Others are retired judge Edna Turkington-Viktora, newsletter co-editor of the General Practice Section and member of the Bench and Bar Section Council; Lisa A. Colpoys, executive director of Illinois Legal Aid Online and member of the Committee on Delivery of Legal Services; Judge Dorothy F. Jones, and Benjamin E. Martin.
