The Women's Bar Association of Illinois has set a deadline of Wednesday, Sept. 15, for nominations of candidates for 2008 Women with Vision Awards.

The awards have been presented since 1997 to women in several professions who have demonstrated visionary approaches to their endeavors and have contributed to the well-being and empowerment of other women.

Application statements of no more than four pages, with resumes and optional clippings or published articles may be sent to Bridget Healy Ryan at the WBAI office, Suite 4S, 312 S. Plymouth Court, Chicago 60604.

Nominees may represent categories such as law, medicine, academics, public office, business and entrepreneurship, trades and labor, journalism, and community and religion.
