Benefits support Cabrini Green, Connections

The Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic, an Illinois Bar Foundation grantee, will hold its annual benefit dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Chicago.

The Charles V. Hogren Distinguished Service Award will be presented to the Morgan Lewis pro bono team. The John R. Houlsby Foundation and Polk Bros. Foundation will receive Kenneth and Margaret Taylor Spirit of Generosity Awards.

The keynote speaker is James B. O’Neal, executive director of Legal Outreach Inc., former vice president of the New York City Bar Association and recipient of its Diversity Champion Award.

A 5:30 p.m. reception will precede the 6:30 p.m. dinner, program and mystery entertainment. Attendance is free, but guests are encouraged to make free-will contributions. For reservations, access www.cgla.net or e-mail timwallace@cgla.net.

The Women’s Criminal Defense Bar Association will hold a benefit on Friday, Sept. 26, for Connections, a Lutheran Social Services program for incarcerated parents and transportation of children to visit mothers in Department of Corrections facilities.

“The Art of Peace,” the sixth annual Charity Gala of the Illinois Center for Violence Prevention, will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in The Ivy Room at Tree Studios, 12 E. Ohio, Chicago.

A benefit golf outing will be conducted Monday, Sept. 22, at the Cog Hill Golf Club in Lemont by the Mitchell A. Mars Foundation. Proceeds will provide Chick Evans Scholarships for college-bound male and female caddies.
