Bon voyage

Visit Beijing games sites

The Olympic Games are over, but sites of the competition remain in Beijing for casual touring by participants during an ISBA travel program in November.

Dynamic Beijing is the title of a pair of eight-day, six-night tours: Nov. 5 to 12, and Nov. 12 to 18. Call GoNext, the ISBA-affiliated travel coordinator, at (800) 842-9023 to sign up.

The cost of the land portion of the trip is $1,199 per person, double occupancy. Airfare from Chicago or St. Louis, at $1,099 based on Dec. 1, 2007, status, is subject to change.

The package price includes six nights at the Capital Hotel in the heart of Beijing, six breakfasts and two lunches, a tour of Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City, and a tour of the Great Wall and Ming Tombs.

The Great Wall tour will make stops for photographs near the Olympic Bird’s Nest, Water Cube and CCTV Tower.

Several optional excursions also are available at reasonable cost. Among the destinations are the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, and Xi’an, location of the renowned Terracotta Army.

Paris trip slated

ISBA President Jack C. Carey has planned a spring presidential trip to Paris, France, the “City of Lights,” from April 18 to 26.

With accommodations for seven nights at the Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel, the itinerary offers optional excursions in Paris and Montmartre, and to the Louvre, Moulin Rouge, Versailles, Giverny, Normandy beaches, and the chateau and champagne country.

The price of $1,899 per person, double occupancy for the land program only includes hotel accommodations, daily breakfast, welcome reception and farewell dinner. Airfare is additional. Brochures are available in ISBA offices.
