Montgomery, Ala., attorney and civil rights activist Morris Dees will speak on Friday, Oct. 10, in Springfield during the Illinois State Conference of the NAACP.

The presentation by the co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center will take place at 7 p.m. in the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel and Conference Center.

Dees has spoken in Illinois on several previous occasions, including an ISBA Minority Participation luncheon and the Lincoln Memorial Banquet of the Peoria County Bar Association.
