Foundation invites non-profits to review of IRS rule change
Recipients of Illinois Bar Foundation grants have been invited to attend a seminar on updated Internal Revenue Service instructions for filing Form 990.
The program will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, in the ISBA Chicago Regional Office. Local bar association representatives are also invited.
Form 990, which the Bar Foundation must file each year, includes many new questions related to governance. The audit and bylaws committees are reviewing information to ensure that it is up to date by the end of the fiscal year.
Discussion of the changes and how organizations should respond will be provided on Sept. 16 by pro bono counsel Kirk A. Hoopingarner of Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon, and certified public accountant Susan Greggo.
The presentation will be webcast by Illinois Legal Aid Online so downstate grantees don’t have to travel to Chicago. Call (312) 726-6072 for details.
