September 2008 Museum slates music program, tea, lectures The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield has scheduled An Evening with the Composer, David Kneupper, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18. He will tell how he created music for the museum from songs written between 1811 and 1882. Admission is $10. On Saturday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m., a Saturday Afternoon Tea with Nancy Torgerson is scheduled. It is a presentation on home life, schooling and entertainment of Lincoln-era children. Admission is $35. The museum’s mobile exhibit, Abraham Lincoln: Self Made in America, will be present Oct. 2-5 during the 150th Lincoln-Douglas Debate Festival in Galesburg. At 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, in Union Theater, author William Miller will speak in the Jim Edgar Lecture Series and book signing on Abraham Lincoln’s duties as a statesman. Miller is a professor at the University of Virginia.
