The American Bar Association this month will launch a timely Web site for lawyers and the public on voting rights and other election information.

Accessible at http://www.abanet.org/op/2008elections, the site will include ABA election administration policy, information on volunteer opportunities, and resources for promoting fair and impartial courts.

Bar associations that plan to conduct election-related activities may be able to link to the site and publicize it to members and local communities.

The ABA is urging lawyers to support the rule of law and judicial independence by promoting a fair electoral process and responding to challenges to fair and impartial courts during judicial election and retention campaigns.
