Lincoln sculptor creates replicas
The ISBA Board of Governors recently approved the exclusive purchase from sculptor John McClarey of a quantity of 15-inch mounted maquettes of the Abraham Lincoln bust that was presented to the Illinois Supreme Court on Jan. 12.
The replica sculptures of Lincoln as he appeared in 1859, titled “Prairie Lawyer: Master of Us All,” are planned for appropriate presentations during February.
McClarey is one of 33 individuals who will receive Order of Lincoln awards during the Lincoln Academy of Illinois banquet on Saturday, Feb. 7, in the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield.
Among others are retired University of Illinois professor Cullom Davis, director of The Lincoln Legal Papers project; state historian Thomas Schwartz, and Douglas Wilson and Rodney Davis, founders of the Lincoln Studies Center at Knox College in Galesburg.
