Black history tours planned
Three bar associations will join the Cook County Circuit Court in offering free tours of the Richard J. Daley Center in commemoration of Black History Month.
Participants will learn about the trial process, visit a courtroom where a trial is in progress, have an informative session with a judge, receive copies of the court’s informational guide, and meet with bar association representatives.
Sponsors are Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans, the Illinois Judicial Council, the Cook County Bar Association and the Black Women Lawyers Association.
The tours will begin at 9:45 a.m. Thursday and Friday, Feb. 19-20, and Monday through Friday, Feb. 23-27. Call Melanie Wheeler, African American community liaison to the chief judge, at (312) 603-3587 for more information.
