LAWPAC trustees are appointed

The ISBA Assembly on Dec. 13 ratified the appointments by President Jack C. Carey of trustees of the Illinois Lawyers’ Political Action Committee (LAWPAC).

Incumbents John H. Brechin of Addison and Brent D. Holmes of Mattoon were reappointed. Assembly member John J. Rekowski of Collinsville was named to the vacancy of John L. Nisivaco of Chicago, who was not eligible for reappointment.

The Assembly also elected ISBA past president Joseph G. Bisceglia as the association’s Cook County representative to the American Bar Association House of Delegates.

Bisceglia, who has served in the ABA House since 2005, defeated incumbent Cheryl I. Niro, also an ISBA past president, who has been an ABA House delegate since 1994.

Timothy L. Bertschy of Peoria, another ISBA past president, was re-elected to the outside Cook County seat in the ABA House without opposition.
