Trial practice series begins spring semester

Although the spring semester of weekly classes in ISBA past president Fred Lane’s Trial Techniques Institute began Feb. 10, prospective participants may still attend an introductory session at no cost.

The weekly 90-minute sessions begin at 5:15 p.m. each Tuesday in the ISBA Chicago Regional Office. The complete nine-month, two-semester course consists of 54 hours of MCLE credit. Attendance also counts toward admission to the Federal Trial Bar in the Northern District.

For registration details, call (312) 726-8775, access http://www.isba.org/trial, or check the announcement on page 13. The fees are $875 for ISBA members and $1,200 for non-members.

Participants learn and practice the finer points of trial practice, enhancing courtroom presentation styles for both plaintiff and defense litigation. Each class is videotaped so students can review progress as the course progresses, or make up by appointment for missing a session.

Co-directors are Fred Lane, who is also a past president of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and Scott D. Lane, a member of the Tort Law Section Council.
