Ask a Lawyer Day call-ins extended
Volunteers are needed on one Saturday each month to answer phone calls during the ISBA’s expanded Ask a Lawyer Day program.
Conducted annually for the past 27 years near Law Day, the free consultations are being offered more frequently now as Illinois residents face legal difficulties related to the economy.
Callers are not limited in types of legal matters, but it is anticipated that many queries will concern bankruptcy, mortgage foreclosure, credit problems, collections and other financial issues.
Lawyers will handle phone calls at the Illinois Bar Center in Springfield on March 21, April 18, May 2 and June 20. Volunteers will take shifts of one to three hours.
To sign up, contact Donna Schechter at ISBA headquarters in Springfield, (800) 252-8908 or dschechter@isba.org.
