Peoria legal aid bash is May 1

Legal Aid 2009, the pro bono benefit conducted for the 14th year by the Peoria-area office of Prairie State Legal Services, will take place from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, May 1, at the Par-A-Dice Hotel in East Peoria.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. An appetizer buffet will be available throughout the event, which includes door prizes and a raffle.

“Central Time Zone,” a Peoria roots band, will provide an entertaining selection of classic country, early rock and standard pop music.

Proceeds will support Prairie State’s free civil legal services domestic violence victims, the disabled, the homeless, the elderly, and other eligible residents of Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Stark and Marshall Counties.
