Vets’ law training planned
ISBA members who have volunteered to represent military service veterans and their families through bar association initiatives and law school clinics may be interested in training seminars that will be conducted next month in Chicago.
Sponsored by the Washington, D.C.-based National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates (NOVA), the presentations will take place Thursday through Saturday, May 7-9, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
A program for new practitioners is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The NOVA spring seminar will follow on Friday and Saturday. Judge Lawrence B. Hagel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims has been invited to give a keynote luncheon speech on Friday.
Founded in 1993 to exchange knowledge about laws for veterans, NOVA has eight Illinois lawyers among its 300 members.
