616 more admitted this month
Ceremonies to admit 616 new lawyers were conducted May 7 by the Illinois Supreme Court at five judicial district locations. Representatives of the Illinois State Bar Association were present at each program, some of which were concluded with ISBA-sponsored receptions.
In the 1st District ceremony on Navy Pier in Chicago, where 430 lawyers were admitted, the ISBA was represented by Mauro Glorioso, a member of the Board of Governors and president of the Justinian Society.
In the 2nd District at the Hemmens Memorial Building in Elgin, 50 admittees heard a welcome to the bar from ISBA President-elect John G. O’Brien and later attended the reception.
In the 3rd District, ISBA Second Vice President Mark D. Hassakis spoke to 12 admittees at the Appellate Courthouse in Ottawa, and a reception followed.
In the 4th District, where 12 new lawyers were admitted at the Illinois Supreme Court Building, ISBA Third Vice President John G. Locallo was guest speaker. The reception took place in the Hall of Flags at the Michael J. Howlett Building.
In the 5th District ceremony at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville, ISBA President Jack Carey congratulated 112 new lawyers and invited them to the reception.
