LAP program set at Loyola

The Lawyers’ Assistance Program will present the program, “Lawyers Under Siege: Our Profession’s Response,” from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, June 4, in the 10th floor ceremonial courtroom at the Loyola University School of Law in Chicago.

A panel headed by Loyola’s associate dean and LAP President James J. Faught will discuss lawyers’ problems that can lead to discipline and the need for peer and professional assistance.

Among them are drug and alcohol addiction, and stress-related mental health issues such as depression, dementia and compulsive disorders.

Other speakers are Jerome Larkin, administrator of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission; Janet Piper Voss, executive director of LAP, and Susan Riegler, its clinical director.

There is no charge to attend the program, but advance reservations are required due to space limitations. Call (312) 726-6607 or e-mail gethelp@illinoislap.org.
