Burke, Amari lead Assembly voting

Cook County Judge Dennis J. Burke led balloting for 23 openings on the ISBA Assembly in the election that concluded May 11.

A past president and Gold Fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation, Burke polled 1,250 votes in the contest among 30 candidates for the Cook County seats.

Second most votes (1,128) were garnered by Katherine A. Amari of Chicago, daughter and law partner of ISBA past president Leonard F. Amari. She is a Silver Fellow of the Bar Foundation.

Rounding out the top ten after ballot counting on May 11 were Joe Cataldo of Glenview (911), Alan Pearlman of Northbrook (910), Jeffrey G. Liss of Chicago (896), Sharon L. Eiseman of Chicago (872), John L. Nisivaco of Chicago (843), Willia R. Tribler of Chicago (802), John W. Damisch of Chicago (795), and Beth D. Wade of Arlington Heights (793).

Also elected are Chicago attorneys Kenneth E. Baime, Michael G. Bergmann, Robert Fink, David Huber, Daniel T. Madigan, Cristina Mungai, Julie E. Neubauer, Ronald Anthony Rascia and Michael J. Zink.

Others are Mark W. Damisch of Northbrook, Melanie Frazek of Blue Island, Anna P. Krolikowska of Northbrook, and Richard P. Miller of Arlington Heights.

Of three law students at The John Marshall Law School who filed for its seat on the Assembly, the winner is Jeffrey Parker. He received 27 votes, to 24 for Tony Bruno and 19 for Daniel M. Yukich.

Parker will be the only law student member of the Assembly, as no candidate filed from any other ISBA-affiliated law school.
