MCLE credit reports in mail

ISBA members who have attended Law Ed programs, or otherwise earned MCLE credits through the ISBA, will receive midterm statements this month.
The MCLE Statement will cover the period Jan. 1, 2006–Dec. 31, 2007, and will be sent by e-mail (regular mail for those members without e-mail addresses). Another statement will be sent close to June 30, the first reporting deadline for half the lawyers in Illinois.
Twenty hours of credit are required in the first reporting period, of which a minimum of four hours must be in the areas of professionalism, diversity, mental illness and addiction, civility or legal ethics.
Up to 10 MCLE credits earned between Jan. 1, 2006, and the beginning of an attorney’s reporing period can be carried into the first two year reporting period, except professional responsibility credits.
The first reporting period for lawyers whose last names begin with the letters A-M is July 1, 2006, to June 30, 2008, and for lawyers whose last names begin with N-Z, the reporting period is July 1, 2007, to June 30, 2009.
Watch for your MCLE Statement by e-mail or regular mail. If you do not receive one and believe you have ISBA credits, contact the ISBA CLE Department, 424 S. 2nd St., Springfield, IL 62701.
