Rachael M. Trummel has joined Barack, Ferrazzano, Kirschbaum & Nagelberg, Chicago, as a partner in class actions and other complex litigation including consumer and health care fraud, product liability and mass tort. She was a partner in McDermott, Will & Emery.
Jeremy R. Segal, a new associate in the firm’s commercial real estate practice, is also from McDermott, Will & Emery. Other new associates are Sharon E. Calhoun, Candice C. Jones and Brandon C. Prosansky, all in commercial litigation.
Barnes & Thornburg elected two attorneys in its Chicago office as partners on Jan. 1. They are Kevin C. Driscoll and Charla L. Hausler.
Driscoll represents creditors in bankruptcies and financial institutions in commercial litigation as a member of the firm’s Finance, Insolvency and Restructuring Department. Hausler concentrates in commercial litigation for the firm’s Litigation Department.

Rex E. Schlaybaugh Jr. has been elected to a third term as chair and chief executive officer of Dykema. The Michigan-based firm has offices in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
Merrick C. Hayes, founding partner in the Bloomington firm of Hayes, Hammer, Miles & Cox, retired in late December and began planning a move to his home in Hilton Head, S.C. He is a past chair of the former ISBA Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Section Council.
Hayes settled in McLean County in 1962, two years after he graduated from the Drake University Law School. Three other name partners – Don C. Hammer, Frank Miles and A. Clay Cox – continue in the firm.
The St. Louis-based firm of Husch & Eppenberger announced Dec. 20 that it will complete its merger with Blackwell Sanders of Kansas City by the end of this month.
With 630 attorneys, the combined commercial litigation and business service firm will rank in the top 100 nationally in revenues. It will have offices in Peoria, Belleville, four other states, Washington, D.C., and London.

Nanci N. Rogers has been named a partner in the Chicago office of Robbins, Schwartz, Nicholas, Lifton & Taylor. She concentrates in litigation, land use, labor and employment, and education law for private and public clients, including governmental entities.

Therese L. Tully has been named a partner in Scandaglia & Ryan, Chicago. Her practice includes hospitality industry litigation, partnership disputes and trademark prosecutions.
Tully joined the firm in 2003 after experience with the Federal Trade Commission and Jenner & Block, and as a law clerk to Judge Martin C. Ashman of U.S. District Court.
Alex B. Rabin has joined the Springfield firm of Sgro, Hanrahan & Durr as an associate in civil litigation, torts and worker’s compensation.
