Fourth annual fall conference has ample CLEPreliminary details have been announced for the ISBA’s major legal education opportunity: The Solo and Small Firm Conference. The fourth annual conference, which will provide opportunities for as many as 18 hours of MCLE and PMCLE credits, is scheduled Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 4-6, at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles. Highlights of the three-day event include keynote speakers, plenary sessions, three tracks of continuous breakouts, exhibits of law-related products and services, a cyber café, and sponsored buffets and receptions. The track presentations – Effective Practice, Substantive Law, and Technology – will feature experienced faculty members from ISBA section councils and committees. Keynote presentations, ranging from humorous to informative and motivational, will offer new insights on the balance between the personal lives and practices of lawyers. Among tentative topics of the speakers are retirement planning, identity theft, memory skills, and time and stress management. Complimentary training will be given on Fastcase, the ISBA’s free accelerated legal research system, and on procedures for e-filing in U.S. District Courts.
