Museum releases Lincoln papersThe Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library is conducting two programs related to the bicentennial of the birth of the 16th president. Release of the four-volume work, “The Papers of Abraham Lincoln: Legal Documents and Cases,” will take place during a luncheon at 12 noon Friday, April 18. A “CSI Springfield” workshop on authenticating Lincoln documents at the museum will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19. Attendance is free, but reservations should be made by calling (217) 558-8934. Topics and speakers include Nuances of Lincoln’s Signature, by John Lupton, associate director and associate editor of “The Papers of Abraham Lincoln.” Others are Old Paper in its Various Forms and Ages, by James Cornelius, curator of the Lincoln collection, and Preservation 101, by Bonnie Parr, historical documents conservator.
