John Locallo to be ISBA president in 2011ISBA Treasurer John G. Locallo of Chicago has been elected third vice president of the state bar association and will be installed as president in 2011. Locallo, a partner in Amari & Locallo, defeated Michele M. Jochner, law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Charles E. Freeman, by a margin of 3,901 to 2,673. Both are members of the ISBA Board of Governors. Three members of the Board of Governors were elected from a field of nine candidates. They are Appellate Justice Mary Jane W. Theis (1,176 votes), former board member Umberto S. Davi (1,037), and incumbent James J. Morici Jr. (959). Other candidates were Stephen M. Komie (929), Keith A. Hebeisen (922), Associate Judge Naomi H. Schuster (785), Andrea M. Schleifer (585), Kimberly J. Anderson (512), and Pamela J. Kuzniar (343). For the Area VII board seat (1st, 2nd and 4th Circuits), Shari R. Rhode of Carbondale was elected without opposition. She was appointed to a vacancy last year. In a contested election for an under-37 Cook County seat on the Board of Governors, Frank A. Sommario defeated Peter R. Olson, 1,167 to 984. For an under-37 board seat from outside Cook County, April G. Troemper of Springfield won over Christopher S. Haaff of Woodstock, 2,275 to 951. Results were incomplete in the election for Cook County seats on the ISBA Assembly. Fifty candidates filed for 26 three-year terms. Also undecided is the contest between Michael T. Mannion and Kenya N. Carter for the Northern Illinois University College of Law seat on the Assembly, and between Cade Cummins and Natasha Bennett for the Valparaiso University Law School seat. Anthony A. Bruno of The John Marshall Law School and Ashley R. Niebur of the Southern Illinois University School of Law were elected to the Assembly without opposition.
