Federal District:
Petition for Review, Order of Bd. of Immigration Appeals
Holding:
Petition denied

Record contained sufficient evidence to support Bd.’s finding that alien (native of Liberia) was precluded from obtaining any asylum or withholding of removal relief based on his provision of “material support” to Tier III terrorist group located in Liberia. Alien did not dispute that Liberian group (LURD) qualified as Tier III terrorist group, and record showed that alien provided interpretation services to group’s leader and others in group, which qualified as material support for purposes of INA. Ct. rejected alien’s claim that he did not provide material support to said group because he only provided sporadic and infrequent interpretation services that dealt with medical appointments and social errands, since Ct. found that individual may offer material support, even if said support is confined to non-terrorist activities of terrorist organization. Alien was also not entitled to any CAT relief, where alien failed to show that he was subjected to any past torture or would likely be subjected to future torture if he were returned to Liberia.
