Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Settlements
Husband's attorney had authority to bind him to oral settlement agreement as to property division. Agreement was read onto the record in open court, both parties were represented by counsel, and fully admonished as to terms of agreement and their responsibilities, and his counsel's statements on record showed husband's agreement. Court ensured that it was parties' intent to settle all outstanding issues via agreement and that husband's attorney had his express authority to do so.(HOLDRIDGE and McDADE, concurring.)
