Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Tort Immunity Act
Plaintiff sued City for injuries sustained when she, lying unconscious in an alley, was run over by a Police Department vehicle. Jury found officer was not willful and wanton but returned verdict for Plaintiff on her negligence counts, in an amount reduced by her own contributory negligence. Jury's verdict in Plaintiff's favor was not absolutely irreconcilable with its determination, in answering a special interrogatory, that officers were en route to a domestic disturbance call. Jury's verdict in favor of Plaintiff is reinstated. (GRIFFIN and WALKER, concurring.)
