Service of summons confers to trial court personal jurisdiction over Defendant where her name, without her defendant status, appeared only on the service list accompanying the summons. For purposes of section 2-201(c) of Code of Civil Procedure, the failure to name Defendant in the caption on the summons is a "technical error", and Defendant was "identified as a defendant on the summons" because her name appeared on the service list. The wording on the summons, "To each Defendant: see attached service list", were sufficient to notify those named on service list that they were defendants. (BRIDGES and HUTCHINSON, concurring.)
