Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Trusts and Estates
Appeal arising from a dispute over the distribution of assets of an estate and allegations of improper influence. Plaintiff filed multiple petitions for discovery and to recover assets. The appellate court affirmed in part and dismissed in part, finding that it lacked jurisdiction to consider one of the orders on appeal because plaintiff did not timely file a motion to reconsider in the trial court. The appellate court further found that the trial court did not abuse its discretion in finding that good cause was not shown to excuse the untimeliness of plaintiff’s motion to reconsider a second order.
