Petrungaro v. Jayachandran

Medical malpractice action where the defendant filed a forum non conveniens motion to transfer the case from Cook County to Kane County. The trial court denied the motion and the defendants filed an interlocutory appeal. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the trial court did not err in its application of the private and public factors and that while two of the public factors favored transfer, the defendant did not show that the public factors “strongly” favored transfer as required by the legal standard.
