Respondent appealed from the trial court’s order finding that she was unable to care for, protect, train, educate, supervise, or discipline her minor daughter and that it was in the child’s best interests to place custody and guardianship with DCFS. Respondent argued on appeal that the trial court’s findings and dispositional remedies were erroneous and requested that an order be entered granting her custody and guardianship. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the trial court did not commit error when it entered a finding that reunification services were needed before respondent could care for her child and that the trial court’s findings regarding guardianship were not against the manifest weight of the evidence.
