CLE: Copyright and Student Records Issues in Education

Are you prepared to advise your clients on copyright issues in the classroom? Anyone working in the education setting (or representing those that do) need to be familiar with several key areas of concern, including copyright use in the classroom, student record laws, and cultural/diversity issues. This half-day seminar in Chicago or via live webcast on February 28, 2018 offers an overview for those new to this practice area, as well as a refresher for advanced practitioners. Education law attorneys, intellectual property practitioners, general practice lawyers, and family/child law attorneys who attend this seminar will better understand: copyright basics, including fair use, infringement penalties; and copyright exceptions; the concepts of what is (and is not) a protected student record; how to enhance law firm diversity and cultural competence at all levels of the practice; and much more!

The program is presented by the ISBA Education Law Section and co-sponsored by the ISBA Intellectual Property Law Section. It qualifies for 3.0 hours MCLE credit, including 1.0 hour Professional Responsibility MCLE credit (subject to approval).
