Harold Gregory "Greg" Meyer 1949-2018

Harold Gregory "Greg" Meyer, 68, died April 28, 2018, in Elgin.

He was born on December 12, 1949, in Quincy to Beatrice M. Stormer (nee Kistner) and Harold E. Meyer, who passed away in 1953 when Greg was a young child. Beatrice later married Bill Stormer, who Greg saw as his father and best friend.

Greg graduated from Quincy High School and Quincy College before attending John Marshall Law School, where he earned a law degree. He worked as a police officer, attorney, and most recently a computer network engineer.

He shared 38 years of marriage with Joanne (nee Wilkinson), and together they raised three children. Loved ones will remember Greg as a jack of all trades who could fix almost anything. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Meyer; three children, Katie Hansen, Jeffery (Courtney) Meyer, and Allison (Stephen) Hale; four grandchildren, Audrey Hansen, Aidan Hansen, Zachary Meyer, and Benjamin Meyer; sister, Joann (Richard) Reichert; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Greg was warm, generous, kind, and a friend to many.
