Thomas V. Hoehne

Thomas V. Hoehne, 72, died Thursday, March 22, 2018, in Denver, Colo.

He was born July 23, 1945 on a U.S. naval base in Seattle, Wash., a son of Nicholas and Geraldine (Hodgin) Hoehne. He married Pamela Shuck in 1971, and they remained good friends through the years and were loving parents to their five children.

Thomas graduated from Spalding Institute, Creighton University, Northern Illinois University and John Marshall Law School. He was an attorney in Peoria, Ill., for 45 years until his retirement in 2017. 

Thomas was an active member of the Elks Club, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Peoria County Bar Association, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peoria. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and loved to golf. Thomas enjoyed coaching his children in soccer and basketball at St. Vincent de Paul Grade School. One of his favorite pastimes was spent gathering with family and friends at Joe Knaus’ pavilion for sporting events, live music, and rib cooking competitions. 

Thomas is survived by four children; Abigail (Tim) Blackmore of Arvada, Colo., Elizabeth Hoehne (Tim) of Broomfield, Colo., Bridget (Rocco) Zito of Aurora, Colo., and Michael Hoehne of Peoria, Ill., and eight grandchildren; Walter, Bennett, Greta, Tabitha, Tessa, Vincent, Genevieve, and Grace. He is also survived by three siblings; Gregory (Monica) Hoehne of Gastonia, N.C., Christy (Ed) Maroon of Peoria, Ill., and Monica Hoehne Clark of Bettendorf, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Christopher Hoehne.
