Chicago law firm Grady Pilgrim Christakis Bell LLP announced today that attorney Stephen Bell, one of the founding partners of the Chicago law firm Goldberg Kohn Bell Black Rosenbloom & Moritz, Ltd., has joined Grady Pilgrim as a partner. Bell chaired Goldberg Kohn's Real Estate Group from 1996 to 2007, and served on its Management Committee for many years until his recent resignation.  Grady Pilgrim is a Chicago-based law firm founded in October 2008 by four former partners of the Chicago law firm Arnstein & Lehr LLP. Bell received his law degree, cum laude, from Harvard University in 1969 and his A.B.

Pfanenstiel and Whitfield named associates at Schiller DuCanto & Fleck

Mr. Pfanenstiel will concentrate his practice on complex family law matters including finance, property division and custody. Mr. Pfanenstiel received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. While studying at DePaul he received a Certificate in Taxation and the Cali Award for Excellence in Family Law Legal Drafting.  He began his career at Schiller DuCanto & Fleck as a law clerk in 2007. Mr. Whitfield was a member of the 2000 U.S. Olympic soccer team and received his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, where he earned a Certificate in Family Law. His practice concentrates on complex family law matters including finance, child custody and paternity. Mr. Whitfield joined Schiller DuCanto & Fleck as a law clerk in 2008.

Baker Hostetler opens Chicago office

Baker Hostetler has announced that it has opened a Chicago office as part of its national growth strategy. "Opening an office in Chicago is another step in Baker Hostetler's strategy of measured growth," said national Executive Partner Steven Kestner, citing the Firm's success in New York where it opened an office in 2001 with three lawyers and now is approaching 100. Under the leadership of Ron Okada as Partner-in-Charge, two lateral partners and one associate, Baker Hostetler will expand the Firm's commercial litigation and corporate practice capabilities. With this addition, Baker Hostetler will have offices in the four largest cities by population in the United States: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston. Mr. Fearnow, a partner for the past nine years with Krieg DeVault, recently made the transition from the firm's Indianapolis office to Chicago in response to the firm's Midwest regional growth in health care. His experience includes trials in state and federal courts and arguments on behalf of health care providers before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
