Lareau joins Rock Island practice

Former ADM lead securities counsel Stuart Funderburg joins Stinson Leonard Street

Stuart FunderburgStinson Leonard Street LLP announced that Stuart Funderburg joined the firm as a partner in the Decatur office.

Funderburg joins the firm from Archer Daniels Midland Company, where he has worked since 1998, most recently serving in the role of Chief Corporate & Securities Counsel and Assistant Secretary. In this role, he led ADM's securities law compliance, capital markets and corporate governance efforts. He also previously served as Associate General Counsel for ADM's Europe, Asia and Africa operating regions, working closely with senior management to advise on a wide variety of complex legal matters, as well as assisting with the development of business strategy and evaluation of potential transactions.

Hanson names Hollahan in-house legal counsel

Dennis HollahanHanson Professional Services Inc. has selected Dennis Hollahan, who works at the firm’s Springfield headquarters, to become the company’s first internal legal counsel. He will lead corporate strategic and tactical legal initiatives, provide senior management with advice on company strategies and implementation and obtain and oversee the work of outside counsel. 

“Dennis is a natural choice for us,” said Sergio “Satch” Pecori, P.E., Hanson’s chairman and CEO. “His experience from private practice, the military and our in-house land acquisition management will serve us well.”

Hollahan was a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps and served as a helicopter pilot during Desert Storm and later as a judge advocate general for the Illinois Army National Guard. Prior to joining Hanson in 2008, he was the section chief for land acquisition and property management and a special assistant chief counsel for the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). He has been a land acquisition project manager for Hanson, working on projects for clients including IDOT, the Illinois Tollway and Illinois county and municipal highway departments.

Hollahan earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Yale University and a Juris Doctor from Notre Dame Law School. He is an Illinois licensed attorney at law and a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. 

Hanson is a national, employee-owned consulting firm providing engineering, planning and allied services.

Stacey A. McCullough joins Momkus McCluskey Roberts LLC

Stacey A. McCulloughCriminal defense attorney Stacey A. McCullough has joined the DuPage County firm Momkus McCluskey Roberts LLC as a partner. She was formerly the principal attorney at The Law Office of Stacey A. McCullough, Ltd., which she founded in 2005. She has practiced criminal defense for more than 20 years.

McCullough graduated with a B.A. in criminal justice with high honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago and earned her law degree at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. She is a certified Illinois municipal administrative hearing officer. She will focus on criminal, juvenile and traffic defense, handle administrative law matters, and litigate family law cases at Momkus McCluskey Roberts LLC. 

She is third vice president of the DuPage County Bar Association and is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers, and The Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Sheppard Mullin Chicago adds litigation partner Bill Kane

William K. “Bill” Kane has joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP’s Chicago office as a partner in the firm’s Business Trial practice group. Kane joins from Baker Hostetler in Chicago. 

Kane concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation for a broad base of corporate, real estate, media and entertainment clients. He advises companies on regulatory and corporate governance issues and has significant experience representing clients in need of emergency injunctive relief for trade secret theft and unfair business competition. Prior to private practice, Kane served as Assistant Attorney General in the Illinois attorney general’s office for five years and handled a variety of public law matters.

Kane received a J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 1986 and a B.S. from Miami University in 1982.

Motz joins Stellato & Schwartz

Former Assistant U.S. Attorney and SEC Enforcement Lawyer Ken Yeadon joins Hinshaw in Chicago

Previously an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois and a Senior Attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement, Yeadon will focus his practice on government investigations and securities litigation, internal investigations, compliance counseling, health care fraud, tax fraud and other complex business disputes.

On June 1, 2011, the day the Illinois Civil Union Act was enacted, Attorney Maximillienne “Max” Elliott launched a solo wills and trusts practice to serve families and individuals who were generally overlooked by lawyers.
