Nomination Form for Committees or Section Councils

Ready to Lead? Nominate Yourself for an ISBA Committee or Section Council

The only way to be considered for an appointment is to complete this online form by February 1, 2017.

Looking for a chance to lead? To grow? To make a difference in the Illinois State Bar Association and the legal profession? Then consider nominating yourself for one of our many section councils and committees for 2017-18.

As president-elect, it's my privilege to make appointments to section councils and committees for the coming fiscal year. These small but influential groups are the lifeblood of the ISBA. They produce newsletters and CLE programs, propose legislation and rules, and help ISBA serve and protect its members in countless ways.

More than 1,000 ISBA members serve on committees and section councils. It's a great way to make new friendships and advance your career. While not everyone can be appointed, all who seek appointment will be considered. I encourage each of you - especially young lawyers and new members whose networking makes the ISBA more diverse and inclusive - to complete the online form below.

Current committees and section councils are listed below. As you can see, the areas of focus and activity span many disciplines. Be aware that an appointment presumes you will attend meetings and actively participate. The ISBA partially reimburses its members for many of their expenses. Your chances of appointment are best if you indicate more than a single area of interest, but no more than three.

Please join me and other ISBA members in serving both the profession and the public.

Russell W. Hartigan, President-Elect
