Parra v. Neal

Dist. Ct. did not err in granting defendants-election officials' motion for summary judgment in section 1983 action alleging that defendants violated their equal protection rights by improperly disregarding their votes for candidate whose name was eventually removed from ballot by Ill. Supreme Ct. four days prior to election. Plaintiffs failed to establish any wrongdoing on part of defendants, who were merely attempting to comply with court mandate. Moreover, plaintiffs failed to provide any grounds for federal court to interfere with state supreme court's decision or with defendant's implementation of said decision.
