Council/Committee Appointment Information

By accepting a position on a section council, you agree to:

• Become a member of the section
• Regularly attend meetings in-person or via conference call
• Contribute (by writing or soliciting a volunteer to write an article) in the newsletter
• Participate in subcommittees where applicable
• Assist with the CLE programs produced by the Section Council
• Contribute to the work-product of the council

• Write or solicit a volunteer to write an article in the newsletter, if applicable
• Participate in subcommittees where needed
• Assist with the CLE programs produced by the committee, if applicable
• Contribute to the work-product of the committee

Other tips and additional information

• The ISBA President-Elect will make the appointments in the Spring
• In April, you should receive an email from the ISBA notifying of you of your appointment or regrets that we were not able to make fulfill your request
• Each council and committee begin their term at the Annual Meeting in June and concludes the following June
• Last year, 97% of members that self-nominated for a group, received an appointment
• Current members of a section council or committee (should they wish to continue to serve) are expected to fill out a self-nomination form
