Illinois State Bar Association Midyear Meeting
Illinois Judges Association Annual Convention
 Join us in Chicago as lawyers and judges from around the state gather to conduct the business of the bench and bar. The Joint Meeting begins with an Opening Reception on Thursday evening where you’ll have the chance to network with old friends and new faces.
The Friday program and luncheon will highlight one of Illinois’ most famous lawyers, Abraham Lincoln, in honor of the Lincoln Bicentennial celebration. We’ll hear from a host of Lincoln scholars who will discuss Lincoln’s legal career and communication skills and who will also provide us with a reenactment of a portion of the Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
We’ve also brought in a mobile museum exhibit special for this event. The “Abraham Lincoln: Self-Made in America” Bicentennial Tour, developed by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, will be open for tours throughout our stay in Chicago.
Friday evening we’ll gather for a formal dinner in honor of the Supreme Court of Illinois, where the Hon. Lloyd A. Karmeier, Justice, Supreme Court of Illinois, will be our featured speaker. The Meeting will conclude Saturday following the ISBA Assembly meeting.
This year we’re also offering a multitude of CLE offerings through our Winter CLE Fest – Chicago extravaganza. Programs will be conducted throughout the day Thursday and Friday and attendees have the opportunity to earn up to 12 hours of MCLE, including all 4 hours of the Professional Responsibility MCLE requirement.
Whether you decide to register for just the Joint Meeting or Winter CLE Fest – Chicago, or choose to get on board with both, be sure to check out the myriad of sights, recreational opportunities and dining options that Chicago has to offer. We’ve come up with a short list on the following page to help get you started.
