Constitution Day

The annual observance of Constitution Day on September 17th recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become citizens.  It is celebrated on September 17th because that is the date in 1787 the delegates to the Constitution Convention met for the last time to sign the document they created.

The American Bar Association provides 25 great lessons plans for Constitution Day you can use in the classroom and community for discussion of the significance of the U.S. Constitution and the rights it protects.
