John “Jack” Lusak 1939-2023

John "Jack" Lusak passed away peacefully on February 23, 2023, in Barrington, IL.

He was born February 21, 1939, in Chicago to John and Elizabeth (nee Marsalek) Lusak.

Jack is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary (nee Morelli); son, Ronald W. Cobb, Jr., and his wife, loving daughter-in-law, Sharon L. Cobb; grandchildren, Ronald W. Cobb III (Megan), Andrew (Olivia) Cobb, and Peter (Tia) Cobb; great-grandson, Ronald W. Cobb IV; sister, Karen Rill, and goddaughters, Diann Marsalek and Elizabeth Rossi Pierobon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; aunts and uncles, and other relatives.

Jack was a lifelong resident of Chicago and attended Gordon Tech High School. He went to Roosevelt University and University of Illinois Law School following the footsteps of his Uncle Ed Marsalek into the legal profession. Jack was called to the Bar in 1965 and continued the practice of law, principally at the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission, until his retirement in 2021. During that time he faithfully served thousands of injured workers.

In addition to being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jack enjoyed fine wine, cooking, and his beloved Cubs.
