Issue Statement
He is an active member of the ISBA since November 9, 1983, member of the ISBA Assembly since 2022, current member and chair of the ISBA Real Estate Law Section Council from 2006-07 and 2018-19, as well as past co-chair of its CLE Seminar Committee for many years, and a member of the Environmental Law Section. Ted feels very strongly about the ISBA’s mission to improve attorney professional standards, assist downstate law firms in addressing the difficulties in hiring and retaining lawyers, and provide continuing legal education and other support to downstate attorneys. Having practiced law for over 40 years with Schmiedeskamp Robertson Neu & Mitchell LLP in Quincy, IL, and as past president of the Adams County Bar Association, Ted knows the importance of representing downstate attorneys in the ISBA. It has been more than 50 years since Adams County has been represented on the ISBA Board of Governors. It's time that Ted Niemann be elected to represent West Central Illinois on the ISBA board. He will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the Board of Governors. Ted's commitment to the ISBA is evidenced by the fact that he is the 2022-23 recipient of the ISBA Matthew Maloney Tradition of Excellence Award. In addition, he has authored many articles in the ISBA "Real Property" newsletter, Chapter 20: Insurance, IICLE Residential Real Estate (IICLE 2003) and Chapter 19S: Insurance Residential Real Estate (IICLE, Supp. 2005). He has planned and been a presenter at numerous continuing legal education seminars sponsored by the ISBA and IICLE. Ted was named by his peers from 2004-20 as an "Illinois Leading Lawyer" as a commercial real estate law attorney. His areas of practice include real estate, commercial, corporate and partnership law, “New Markets Tax Credit” transactions, banking, and estate planning and administration.
