Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Proximate Cause
Mother and daughter were attacked while on crowded CTA bus; two passengers punched and kicked mother, and other passengers, and squeezed her 6-year-old daughter between them. Court properly granted summary judgment for CTA, as Plaintiffs had not demonstrated that CTA's alleged breach of duty, in allowing overcrowding of buses, proximately caused their injuries. (HALL and REYES, concurring.)
