Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Mental Health Code
Court found Respondent subject to involuntary hospitalization and involuntary administration of psychotropic medication. Respondent had an absolute right to an independent examination by a physician of her choice. Court erred in denying Respondent's motion for independent examination, pursuant to Section 3-804 of Mental Health Code, without determining whether Respondent was able to obtain an examination before it proceeded to hearing on State's petition. (KNECHT and TURNER, concurring.)
