Biography

My career has taken me from bankruptcy court to juvenile court, from the public defender's office to the prosecution table. I've represented parents and children in abuse and neglect cases as a guardian ad litem, defended people facing incarceration, and now prosecute felonies and misdemeanors in Rock Island County, Illinois.

I believe that the system works best when we see the full picture—defendants as people with histories and potential, not just charges on a docket. My dual experience in defense and prosecution gives me insight into how legal decisions ripple through real lives of both victims and defendants. I approach every case asking: What does accountability look like here? What does fairness require?

As lead prosecutor for Mental Health Court and Drug Court, I've helped increase referrals and raise graduation rates by building smoother pathways into treatment-based alternatives. Through ongoing training with the Illinois Association of Problem Solving Courts, I continue learning how to prosecute with both accountability and compassion.

I'm committed to evidence-based prosecution, restorative justice, and systemic fairness. I've seen punishment fail and rehabilitation succeed. My goal is to advance restorative justice practices in prosecution, expand problem-solving court models, and build partnerships across the legal community to create fairer, more effective outcomes for everyone involved.
